Equine manual therapy

Equine physiotherapy encompasses many forms of physical therapies, for example,  manual  and exercise therapy. Physical manipulation includes stretching and joint mobilization combined with massage therapy.

The physiotherapist starts by observing the horse during exercise to determine any functional problems, followed by palpation of the soft structures and movement of the  joints of the vertebral column and periphery.

Manual therapies should be considered in cooperation with treating veterinarian.
